Where is nonsuch park
We went with my 2 year old and an awful woman with a plummy accent and unrivalled sense of entitlement to match had the audacity to ask if I could pick my child up 'Otherwise he'll be knocked over'! I wish I had taken a picture of the revolting wench - she deserved to have her picture plastered across social media as a warning to any other people who encounter her.

The owner did not get off the bench and said that's for sniffing her bottom. I was shocked but have heard this dog has attacked other dogs. It's a five year old grey and red fur looks like a crufts dog. Please keep clear of this anti social dog and owner. He goes to Mansion House for tea so it's likely the owner would be seen there. If you see this dog with its owner please take a photo to warn others.
Owner is grey haired and short I think they are, South African. We don't tolerate dog attacks here he should muzzle his dog and warn others. It's not acceptable to allow their dog to attack others and its not the dogs fault but the owners.
Don't have a photo yet but I will have. HT60 London, UK 46 contributions. Went for walk Easter Sunday and stopped here for an ice cream. I was embarrassed in front of my friends and the person concerned really should not be front of house serving the public. They always seem to be busy but that probably is because they have a captive audience. This is a wide open space but there are too many dogs. This should be an enjoyable open space but there are a lot of dogs, sometimes off the lead and many with professional walkers with more dogs than they can keep under control.
Many of the shrubs are also festooned with "poo-bags" that the walkers can't be bothered to take home. Why do people do that? Nonsuch Park is great for dog walks and has vast open spaces to enjoy.
The manicured gardens are a nice relaxing place to sit and relax. The coffee shop is a bit pricey but is nice. Nonsuch has a lot of history to it but to me it is a place that has a space in my heart and I am very sentimental about it having been coming here since I was a small child.
It is maybe forty years since we last visited, so our memories were rather hazy! However, since we were in the area we decided to have a walk, most enjoyable on a sunny Spring day.
We were struck by the fact that it is so extensive, although there seemed to be a distinct lack of maps, so we had to keep asking directions. The whole place seemed to be deservedly popular with walkers, many with dogs, but it is so large that there are plenty of quiet areas.
Plenty of seats everywhere and no admission fee! A great place for a walk if you are in the area. We came here earlier this year. Follow the Ewell Road until the road bends sharply to the right. Take the tight left hand turn on this bend just before the war memorial.
A24 entrance: From London take the A3. Follow this for just under three miles and take the left hand turn at the traffic lights opposite the Honda garage onto the A After around 0.
The entrance is on the right. Travel Information For further travel information please see: www. Toggle navigation. Following demolition of the Tudor palace in the late C17, the parkland of the Little Park was converted into agricultural land. Field boundaries, probably dating from the later C17, and shown on the estate map of , formed the basis of the subsequent field system, being retained into the C The Tithe award of indicate that much of the area was then under the plough.
Areas were put back to pasture in the s when W F Farmer extended the park to make the area of park and gardens up to acres c 40ha Brayley A number of ornamental circular plantations were planted around this date as well as some isolated specimen trees. Some of the Tudor features survive as earthworks, including the boundaries of the Henrician formal garden compartments and the probable site of a grotto Actaeon's Pool in the Grove of Diana. Trial trenches excavated by the Surrey Archaeological Unit in confirmed the presence of wall foundations on the lines of the earthworks recorded by the RCHME around the Privy Garden. The features in the Tudor gardens are discussed at length by Dent The palace and gardens area includes the site of Cherry Orchard Farm, demolished in the s.
A building on this site is shown on the survey and was then probably a new farm apparently cultivating fields which largely retained the boundaries of the Tudor Wilderness and the palace frontage Oswald The kitchen gardens for the Mansion House lie to the east of the building, divided from it by the northern end of the Fir Walk. The southern part of the gardens is shown on the Tithe map of , the northern section post-dating this survey. None of the glasshouses from the former ranges survive.
The design of the original palace and gardens formed an integrated whole. The gardens surrounding the palace were extensively improved by Henry Fitzalan, who purchased it from the Crown in The palace was demolished in The present mansion was at one time the home of Thomas Whately, author of Observations on Modern Gardening , who was responsible for making improvements to the existing gardens.
The site of the Tudor palace of Nonsuch, and accompanying gardens, is included within the boundary of the area here registered. Stretches of the present park boundary correspond to the boundaries of Henry VIII's much larger Little Park, disparked in the late 17th century and early 18th century. The structure was perhaps substantially complete by January Only small remnants of the Palace can be seen today. There are a number of access points to this large site. There are two entrances in London Road leading to car parks and one in Ewell Road, Cheam, which also leads to car parking facilities.
