Where is john bolaris now
I did analyze it. I did look into it. Like what? Listen, my experience helps me greatly. But to do this right, to not just get up there and present a forecast, it takes a hell of a lot of work. You need to analyze maps in detail. That helps you solidify the forecast. When I was looking at it last night at three in the morning, I was saying, Oh, shit, this is gonna bust. When I was looking at it at three in the morning, it was beyond logic to me that we would get six to ten inches.
The ground is warm. Meanwhile, the people actually on TV were calling for a more significant storm. It defied what logically and meteorologically should take place. Oh, I get the warnings. I see the National Weather Service predictions. I should just do my own forecast. But I am doing this at in the morning, keep in mind. A lot of people still look to me. John discusses how his wife informed him of her desire for a divorce on the day of his Philadelphia debut.
John talks about the impact coming forward and pressing charges had on his career, ultimately leading to its end. Bolaris walks us through the darkest days of his life following the end of his meteorology TV career and about his daughter being his saving light. We also put John through the Philly Blunt round. Follow Us Instagram Facebook Twitter. That same week, Louis W. Uccellini, now the head of the National Weather Service, happened to be in West Chester for a scheduled talk.
Instead, he said, the Philadelphia snow was sabotaged by a later-than-expected arrival of the original storm feature on the West Coast. Computer models had trouble with it because data were wanting over the Pacific Ocean.
Ultimately, the timetable got pushed back and the storm matured farther north than expected. That said, snowfall forecasts have improved overall in the last 20 years, said Gary Szatkowski, who was the chief of the local weather service office in and who famously apologized publicly for a forecast bust in January Schwartz added a cautionary note.
At least he still had his deal with Philly. Or so Bolaris thought. He says two days before he was due to re-sign his contract he found out NBC10 had offered Philly. For nearly 20 years, Bolaris was the biggest star in Philly weather.
Now he pretty much only forecasts on Twitter, every once in a while. Over a minute conversation at Joe Coffee in Rittenhouse Square, he takes four calls.
The Flyers are getting back into town after the offseason. Bolaris helped Raffl get the penthouse at The Griffin, a new luxury apartment complex near Broad and Chestnut. Bolaris says he has a relationship with the Sixers, and this summer he helped Eagles players get rentals at the Shore. His other clients include businessmen, investors and at least one rap star. Over lunch at Estia last summer, he says they decided on the vision for TCS Black Label, and Gambhir realized Bolaris was worth the hire, despite his past.
The public may never forget, though. Earlier this year, Bolaris managed to get banned from Rouge after a dispute with a fellow customer. He gave the man the finger on the way out. The manager on duty thought the gesture was intended for her.
Sometimes, too, the animosity is apparent in his interactions with other real estate professionals. Bolaris says he was blackballed by another realtor who was hosting an open house in the same building as one of his units and had the boyfriend of a client try to convince her to drop him. Why would you not?
