Bore Gauges: Bore gauges are used to measure the size of any hole and come in both digital and analogue variants. Depth Gauges: These gauges are used to measure the depth of slots and holes. Depth gauges are available in digital, analogue and scale variants.

Dial Gauges: These gauges are used to measure flatness of surfaces and detecting minor deviations in linear measurements of objects. Dial gauges are also used to measure the centricity of circular objects. Industrial pressure gauge is suitable for production processes that would not block the pressure system.

Industrial gauges are used in manufacturing industries, OEM applications, hydraulic, water treatment and RO industries. Gauges generally are direct reading instruments as opposed to sensors, transducers, etc. Thus pressure gauges, be they analog or digital, make direct readings and provide data at the instruments themselves.

The same applies to level gauges and to the many various gauges used for machined parts metrology. Some gauges provide no reading at all, especially those referred to as fixed limit gauges, which are used to evaluate tolerancing on parts and provide simple yes or no answers to the question of whether or not a particular part falls within its design parameters. Other gauges such as feeler gauges also rely on this same simple tactile feedback. Another advantage of analog gauges is that they need no power supply which for digital gauges usually means batteries.

An advantage of many digital gauges is their ability to feed outputs to data acquisition systems. Liquid level gauges are generally direct reading and sized according to the depth of the tank they monitor. Analog and digital versions are generally available for the many metrology gauges such as depth, bore, etc. Again the ability to port measurements form the instrument makes digital gauges helpful for quality control documenting. They are designed to be used for quick verification that a part is made within tolerance. Fixed limit gauges are often sold as sets of pins which cover ranges of diameters. Where a force indicator might be used on a truck weigh scale, a force gauge might be used to determine how much push is needed to close a door.

Thermocouples consist of two dissimilar conductor wire, made from different metals. These wire are welded together at one end, form a junction used to measure temperature.

Thermistors have a high coefficient of resistivity. Thermistors are made of semiconductors of solid type. The suitable temperature measuring range for thermistors is degree Celsius to degree Celsius. Some special type thermistor can measure up to degrees of temperature. The change in temperature is measured by changes in its resistance. So, the Wheatstone bridge circuit is used for it.

Also, thermistor can convert changes in temperature to corresponding changes in voltage as a current. Air gets pulled down by gravity and hence air exerts pressure on objects. One such example of measurement is known as a barometer. Barometers are scientific instruments that are used for the measurement of atmospheric or air pressure. It is an important and essential tool used in the meteorological department for forecasting short term weather and altitude changes.

The barometers should be kept at the same level and cannot measure air pressure above the altitude of 5, feet. Initially, water-based barometers were used, later it was replaced by mercury and aneroid barometers which the two most commonly used barometers.
